Jennifer is a psychologist, educator, and academic futures researcher. Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Sustainable Futures (UTS, Sydney), an Adjunct Professor of the Southern Cross University (NSW), a Fellow of the Botin Centre (Spain), and former Visiting Fellow at SciencesPo, in France.
She was the President (2009-2017) of the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF), a UNESCO and UN-ECOSOC. In this chair she led the global peak body representing 300 of the world’s leading futures scholars from over 60 countries.
Most recently, arising from her concern about growing climate crisis, the plight of the Ocean, and awareness of the serious threats to many small island nations from sea level rise, she has co-founded the Oceanic Research Institute (ORI) in Australia.
As an international speaker, researcher and consultant in education, innovation and sustainable futures, her projects span Europe (Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, Sweden); Middle East (Egypt, Iran and UAE); Asia (Malaysia, Shanghai, Taiwan); Latin America; UK and USA. She serves on editorial boards of several academic journals, and has published over 50 academic papers, and several books.
Jennifer’s latest books include Postformal Education: A Philosophy for Complex Futures (Springer, 2016); The Secret to Growing Brilliant Children (Bear Books, 2020) and The Future: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press, 2017), recommended in futures courses around the world. <
