La Dra. Hailikari es Profesora y Conferencista Senior de Pedagogía Universitaria en la Universidad de Helsinki, donde principalmente imparte cursos pedagógicos para profesores universitarios.
Actualmente su investigación se centra en el bienestar de estudiantes y docentes universitarios y en los procesos de estudio de los estudiantes universitarios. Se interesa por las relaciones entre los procesos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes universitarios, las experiencias del entorno de enseñanza-aprendizaje y el bienestar.
Su investigación ha demostrado que los procesos de aprendizaje están fuertemente relacionados con la capacidad de los estudiantes universitarios para regular su aprendizaje y emociones, así como sus éxitos y fracasos. En su investigación, explora las diferencias individuales en el aprendizaje y el bienestar en diferentes fases de los estudios universitarios y también los factores que influyen en el bienestar de los profesores universitarios.

Is a senior lecturer in university pedagogy at University of Helsinki and she mainly teaches pedagogical courses for university teachers.
At the moment her research focuses on university students’ and teachers’ well-being and on university students’ study processes. She is interested in the relations between university students’ learning processes, experiences of the teaching-learning environment and well-being.
Her research has shown that learning processes are strongly related to university students’ ability to regulate their learning and emotions as well as successes and failures. In her research she explores the individual differences in learning and well-being at different phases of the university studies and also factors that influence university teachers’ well-being.
